Artist's Comments

recent project finished for a class. this one took quite awhile, making the walker as well as the interior scene, and of course being much more complicated than my previous work. i really love how my lighting turned out, although i could not get volumetric light to work for a god-ray effect from above >.<

used Autodesk Maya 8.5

This rock! lightings and textures are great. Some glow effects, reflectivity aswell. good rendering!

Ligths effects on Maya always gives me a headache.
What renderer did you use in it? Mental Ray?

Yeah, mental ray is best for realistic rendering. But some effects cannot be shown by using that renderer, its a little problematic for me but thats, that.
Again impressive work. Simple yet great!

I love how I can tell how big these things are by that hanger door over on the right. I think this was very well thought out and done amazingly :heart:

yea, the composition was long thought out to exemplify their size. the camera angle is what does it most, what i originally planned made them look like action figures from a cereal box lol. but yes, other than camera angle, comparison to other objects was a major part in showing they are really tall. :hug:

xD that's why I said stupid anime mecha fanboy... xD
I always expect a lot xD

it's okay :hug: I shouldn't expect anything as long I couldn't do it better xD
which actually means I have to back off when it comes to 3D and coloring ^^;
