EDIT 9/10/10: Composition and minor detail edits

EDIT 4/15/10: Gave the sword some glint to look more like metal

been trying to phase out some of my older portfolio pieces to be replaced by newer ones.

looking back at my gallery and scraps, it's interesting to see how my way of drawing and painting my original character Erika has really changed over time. It feels like I've come a long way, but I still have a long road ahead to improve.

Masterful, as expected of you. You may have a lot to learn, but you have achieved some really exceptional results here. There's not much more I can say.

Hum...it looks significantly awesome.

My one problem is looking at the sword and not knowing where the light source is for that so I can suggest points of improvement for metals. I think that's the only thing odd about it, but otherwise I'd say this piece is significantly useful for showing what you're capable of. :D

yah, my only true recommendation is that ANY sort of metal will always have a glint to it, and will have a definite highlight in whatever light source you have. In softer situations, it isn't as easy to see since it feathers off on the surface, but there's always a hard point of light visible among it where the soft light radiates outwards from.
