another one that started as a speedpaint. It's the first time I've had Erika's saber unsheathed, and I included her outfit from [link]

I really like brushing in black and white, it's really fun and makes it easier to get good contrast and tones.

You're right about the contrast and tones- they are very well done in this picture. It's a really strong piece, just like the other black and white one. You do a great job of professional finishing.

Ah blacks and whites...and all the greys that come in between....^^;

reminds me of working with charcoal, both black and white charcoal...really fun stuff, comes out very awesome when done just the right way...just like this piece, actually...very strong shadows, highlights done just spot-on. Although I would comment on the skin being too shiny from the highlights...just makes her look a little odd, nothing major.^^;
